The wind leaves few incidents in Lanzarote

Firefighters had to cut a tree branch and disconnect a lamppost, both about to fall due to the wind, in Arrecife

Firefighters disconnect a lamppost about to fall due to the wind on Calle León y Castillo in Arrecife.

The strong gusts of wind on Wednesday left two incidents in Arrecife, which forced firefighters to intervene.

The Security and Emergency Consortium went to Luján Pérez street in Arrecife after a warning of a tree branch about to fall. Alerted by an individual around 4:30 in the afternoon, the firefighters went to the scene and proceeded to cut the branch in question to leave it in a safe place.

Barely an hour and a half later, firefighters were alerted to a second incident, a lamppost about to fall on Calle León y Castillo, in the center of Arrecife. After arriving at the scene, the security forces disconnected it and removed it from the sidewalk to put it in a safer place for pedestrians.

Finally, they left the area marked and informed the CECOES of the completion of the service. The Local Police also went to the scene.
