The trial against the alleged pedophile accused of abusing four minors in Arrecife began this Wednesday, in the Arrecife Courts, at 11:45 a.m. The Sixth Section of the Provincial Court of Las Palmas is judging Roland Figge, a German citizen, during this day, who is accused of ten different crimes: four continued crimes of sexual abuse, four of sexual provocation, one of production of pornographic material and another of possession of that material.
The Prosecutor's Office is asking for more than 52 years in prison for him. He is also asked to be prohibited from approaching or communicating with his victims for twenty years and compensation of 12,000 euros for each of the minors for moral damages.
This Wednesday's trial is held in open court, but those attending the oral hearing must leave the room when the minors testify. The investigation of the case has been carried out by Court number 3 of Arrecife.
Figge, who has been in provisional prison since May 2008, is accused of continuously abusing four minors between the ages of nine and eleven at the time of the events, even practicing oral and anal penetrations.
