The National Police have arrested and brought to justice José Luis P.R., 43 years old, native of Tinajo and resident of Arrecife.
The detainee is accused of perpetrating a robbery with violence on September 11, in which he tried to steal a woman's purse when she was about to get into her private vehicle on Pérez Galdós street in the capital of Lanzarote, without finally managing to steal the effects because they fell to the ground and because two women and a man who were passing by helped the victim and made the perpetrator flee.
As a result of the struggle, the victim was injured in the chest. According to a police statement, the detainee has 18 previous arrests, almost all for crimes against property, the last two occurring last June in Arrecife.
