The Prosecutor's Office requests 20 years in prison for the accused of Yuliza's murder

Through a statement, the Prosecutor's Office states that the accused had maintained "an overwhelming and suffocating relationship" with his stepdaughter since her arrival in Lanzarote, in May 2007, which had led to discussions. The last of these was on November 7 of the same year, when the defendant prevented Yuliza from practicing the religious beliefs she professed at home.

Precisely, it was the following day when the accused, between 9:00 and 10:00 a.m., after continuing the discussion of the previous day with Yuliza, strangled the young woman. The prosecutor recalls that the accused got rid of the victim's shoes, bag, bra and shirt, throwing them in a nearby container, and tied the corpse's hands and forearms to her back with brown packing tape, transporting it in his vehicle to the Argana Alta dump, where he buried Yuliza's body.

After that, the accused returned home and devised an alibi, even simulating false collaboration in the search for Yuliza, whose body was found five days after her death. From the beginning, Yulisa's family environment considered her stepfather the main suspect, but the Police could not formally accuse him until April of the following year. He has been in jail since April 10, 2008.
