The prosecutor of the province of Las Palmas, Ignacio Stampa, has ratified the sentence of 52 years and 8 months in prison for the alleged pedophile Roland Figge, accused of four crimes of continued sexual abuse with aggravating circumstances and sexual provocation of four minors, as well as the production and possession of pornographic material.
In his harsh final plea, the prosecutor himself described the defendant as a "degenerate pedophile" who has "abused children of 8 and 9 years old" whom he "emotionally blackmailed" and took advantage of their "vulnerability".
This is how a trial that lasted more than six hours ended, in which the four minors had to testify, protected behind a screen, before the court of the Sixth Section of the Provincial Court of Las Palmas. Statements that have not left any member of the room indifferent and in which, even, one of the minors burst into tears. Likewise, the father of one of the minors, who rebuked the defendant during the hearing, had to be expelled from the room.
Harrowing testimonies
The first of the minors called to testify, and the first to become an alleged victim of sexual assault, stated that he had sexual encounters with the defendant, which included touching, fellatio and even, on one occasion, anal penetration took place. The alleged victim, then about 9 years old, with whom the defendant thought he "had a relationship", according to himself", has stated that he came to "feel guilty" of the events and that, when he "refused to have sexual relations", the defendant "burst into tears" and ended up agreeing because he "felt sorry for him".
Two other minors later joined this sexual game, whom the defendant accessed through the first of them. One of them has even stated during the oral hearing that the defendant took "nude photos" of him, which he later "sold on the Internet", and that he participated in "sexual relations with the defendant and the previous minor". The other minor, who has stated before the court that he "does not want to remember anything", has stated that the defendant "never touched him", although the previous minor has indicated that he could see how on one occasion he was the object of "fellatio".
The last alleged victim of Roland Figge, who also claimed to have had sexual relations with the defendant and some of the other minors, has even admitted before the court that he came to "receive money" from the defendant and that "that's why he kept quiet". "I'm ashamed to talk about this," he acknowledged during the trial.
The defendant himself has admitted before the court that he had sexual relations with the four minors, but "only touching" without any type of penetration, so that the children "did not have physical and psychological damage" since, although he pointed out that he knew that what he was doing "was forbidden", he thought that "he was not hurting them". Likewise, he has stated that he feels "attraction to children" and "cannot avoid it". At the end of the trial, when he was given the floor in case he wanted to add anything else, the defendant asked for "forgiveness from the victims".
Other cases
In addition to the four minors who have testified against Roland Figge during this trial, there would be "an alleged fifth victim of sexual abuse", according to the prosecutor, which "is the subject of prosecution in another process".
Even, Roland Figge had already been fined in 2001 in Germany, for a crime of child pornography.
