The National Police arrested this Monday in Figueres (Girona) a 19-year-old woman as an alleged 'recruiter' for the terrorist organization Daesh (popularly known as the Islamic State). According to the Police, the arrest is the result of the "study and analysis of the effects seized from Ayoub Moutchou", who was arrested on August 4 in Stuttgart (Germany). Moutchou had fled to this country after the arrest in Arrecife of Silvia Celestín, accused of recruiting women and girls to send them as "sexual slaves" to the territories dominated by this terrorist organization.
As for the new arrest this Monday, it was agents of the General Information Commissariat of the National Police, with the collaboration of the Superior Headquarters of the Police of Catalonia and also of the German BKA, who carried out the arrest. This is an operation "against the networks of recruitment, logistical support and activities of dissemination and indoctrination of the ideology of the jihadist terrorist organization Daesh" that remains open.
Sending combatants and logistical support
The detained woman "had established a support network for the terrorist organization Daesh, as well as with its members and sympathizers", the Police said. She was dedicated, among other functions, to "sending combatants, facilitating contacts and safe routes in trips to areas under the control of the terrorist organization Daesh, in addition to providing advice to active members of the jihadist terrorist organization, on the security measures they would have to adopt in their itinerary", the Police lists.
The detainee also had an "activity and control in social networks", in which she "interacted with individuals with radical profiles related to her ideology, in order to establish a broad network of support and collaboration with Daesh, in addition to carrying out a campaign to disseminate the ideology and terrorist acts" of the jihadist terrorist organization, they add.
"With this arrest, it has been possible to neutralize a very active cell in its functions of publicizing the ideology of the terrorist organization Daesh, recruiting new jihadist fighters and offering decisive logistical support", concludes the police force.
