The body found on Wednesday morning in La Rocar belonged to a man of Maghreb origin and with Spanish nationality. This has been confirmed to La Voz by the Security and Emergency Consortium.

Although the body will be analyzed by forensic doctors, the first indications indicate that, due to the state of putrefaction in which the body was found, he had probably been dead for more than a week under the rubble of the old cannery of La Rocar in Arrecife.

Likewise, the man, whose age has not yet been revealed, had to be removed from the rubble with a shovel from the Arrecife City Council.

The discovery was made by a passerby who was walking through the area and noticed the bad smell. In the place part of the man's body could be perceived trapped between the stones detached from a wall in a ruinous state
