Deployments of the Local Police of Arrecife to prevent the sale of drugs

The Local Police has identified and arrested an individual accused of drug trafficking. The detainee has been placed at the disposal of the courts after "carrying various quantities of narcotics, distributed in packages and bags ready for sale," as noted in the police proceedings.

During last week's operations, the USCI - Citizen Security and Intervention Unit of the Local Police of Arrecife had the collaboration of the K-9 canine unit. Jacky, only 2 years old, is already fully operational and demonstrates remarkable effectiveness in detecting substances.

Her ability to accurately locate drugs makes her a key resource for the USCI. Thanks to her trained sense of smell, she has allowed the detection of hidden substances among the belongings of several citizens who have been searched in these latest operations in public places and premises in the capital of Lanzarote.

The experience of the agents has been decisive in identifying cases of possession and distribution of drugs, helping to stop their commercialization in the city. In addition, their work is not limited to the detention of narcotics, but also includes the identification and removal of knives, which are prohibited on public roads.

The Local Police of Arrecife reaffirms its commitment to society through actions aimed not only at road safety and citizen coexistence, but also at the fight against drug trafficking and the possession of prohibited weapons. These interventions seek to protect all citizens and, especially, our young people.
