The judge has decided to send the detainee to prison after a man he allegedly assaulted during a fight in the Charco de San Ginés died. After taking his statement, the judge ordered him to be imprisoned, without bail, for an alleged crime of homicide.
The victim was a 60-year-old man of German origin. He died in the intensive care unit of the hospital, where he had to be transferred hours after the fight occurred on the morning of Thursday, December 10. The arrested man, 36 years old and a native of Arrecife, has "numerous police records".
In the early hours of last Friday, hours after that fight, the deceased had to be transferred to Molina Orosa in an ambulance. He complained of a strong pain in his side and was operated on urgently. After his death, it was the Coordinating Center for Security and Emergencies who notified the National Police, last Sunday, that they had attended to a person who claimed to have been the victim of an assault.
The Police then began their investigation. The investigations allowed them to verify that the victim had been involved in that fight in the Charco de San Ginés, and that the detainee was also allegedly involved. For this reason he was arrested.
