The Civil Guard removes almost 3,000 bottles of alcohol from shops in Lanzarote

Eight inspections carried out in different establishments in Lanzarote by the Civil Guard have resulted in 14 complaints for administrative infractions and the removal of almost 3,000 bottles of alcohol in different premises, both retail and wholesale.

The inspections were carried out on January 21 and were carried out by agents of the Fiscal and Border Patrol of the Civil Guard of Costa Teguise and personnel of the Trade and Consumer Inspection of the Government of the Canary Islands.

Although the bottles seized "did not pose a risk to health", according to the Civil Guard, they did present different infractions, so they were seized and have been made available to the Tourism Inspection of the Government of the Canary Islands, as well as the Administrator of the Customs and Special Taxes Management Office of Arrecife.

Among the infractions are the lack of mandatory tax seals, the lack of a lot number or having it "intentionally erased", the lack of labeling in Spanish or the failure to include the importer or producer in the European Union, as required by the sale of alcoholic beverages imported from third countries.

In total, 2,950 bottles of various types of alcoholic beverages, such as gin or vodka, were seized, "with an approximate value of 30,000 euros", according to the Civil Guard.
