The Civil Guard of San Bartolomé has arrested a person as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of theft of a bicycle that had been stolen in Playa Honda. The arrest took place on January 5, although the beginning of the investigation dates back to June 2016. At that time, a complaint was filed at the Civil Guard facilities in San Bartolomé reporting the theft of a bicycle, valued at 800 euros, which was located in the common areas of a residential complex in Playa Honda.
The components of the investigation area located and identified the possible perpetrator. In addition, they found the vehicle for sale in a second-hand store in Arrecife.
Thus, the agents proceeded to arrest S.J.L.O., who could not prove the origin of the bicycle. This was recovered and immediately returned to its owner. The detainee was placed at the disposal of the court.
The Civil Guard recalls that the purchase of stolen goods is classified in the Penal Code as a crime of receiving stolen goods and carries penalties ranging from six months to two years in prison.
