The Civil Guard files seven new complaints for displaying pornographic-themed souvenirs

The Civil Guard has filed seven new complaints against bazaars in Lanzarote for having pornographic souvenirs on display, thereby violating the Comprehensive Care Law for Minors in the Canary Islands. These complaints are in addition to the four that the Benemérita had already sent to the Ministry of Employment, Social Policies and Housing of the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands and which La Voz reported this Tuesday.

According to the Civil Guard, this Wednesday they inspected two premises located on Fred Olsen Avenue in Arrecife; some records that resulted in two complaints for the exhibition at the entrance of the establishments of these penis-shaped bottle openers, being an area very busy by minors. On the other hand, this Thursday the Benemérita has carried out four inspections in Playa Blanca and two in Puerto del Carmen, which have ended with four complaints to premises in the southern municipality and one in the tourist area of Tías.

The Benemérita has so far filed a total of 11 complaints: four in Arrecife, four in Playa Blanca, one in Playa Honda, one in Costa Teguise and one in Puerto del Carmen. The products, according to sources from the Civil Guard, are not seized but the agents asked the owners of the establishments to remove them from the area where minors passing by the street can see them and store them in the premises.

All these actions are now in the hands of the Government of the Canary Islands, as the competent authority to establish possible sanctions.
