The Civil Guard confirms that there are four arrests for the assault on two officers in a bar in Puerto del Carmen

The Civil Guard has confirmed to La Voz that it has proceeded to the arrest of four people, two of Moroccan nationality, one of Colombian nationality and a Spanish woman, in relation to the aggression suffered by two Civil Guard agents, when they were off duty in a bar in the Centro Atlántico de Puerto del Carmen.

The incident occurred in the early hours of last Thursday to Friday when, according to sources from the Benemérita, the agents were attacked with glasses and glass bottles in a bar in the Centro Atlántico de Puerto del Carmen.

Although there has not yet been any official information in this regard, since the case is under seal, police sources indicate that the Civil Guard agents were approached from behind. Regarding the reason for the aggression, they maintain that it could be due to revenge, since the aggressors would have been previously reported or detained by the agents they attacked. However, other extra official sources point to a very different start to the fight.

As a result of the aggression, one of the agents had to be urgently transferred to the Doctor José Negrín Hospital in Gran Canaria, as he presented serious injuries and a significant cut in one eye. The agent is still admitted to Gran Canaria, where he could be operated on for the eye injury, although, for the moment, doctors are waiting for his evolution.

The other civil guard had minor injuries and was treated at the Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital, where he was discharged shortly after.

The Civil Guard confirms that new arrests are not ruled out.
