The Civil Guard has arrested a total of 9 people in Lanzarote this past weekend for various crimes of different kinds.
Agents of the Civil Guard of Costa Teguise arrested the young R.F.T. and Y.C.G., both 24 years old and residents of Arrecife, who are accused of 14 counts of robbery inside vehicles.
A statement sent by the Armed Institute explains that the arrests occurred as a result of a device carried out to capture the perpetrators of numerous thefts inside rental cars, who used stones to break the windows. These crimes were committed in the tourist area of the Mirador del Yé, in the municipality of Haría. Both criminals were intercepted this Sunday while driving in a vehicle after committing their last robbery.
On the other hand, a resident of Playa Honda surprised another woman inside her home who was robbing her, both maintaining a struggle but finally the criminal managed to flee the scene after seizing money and personal effects, all worth 2,256 euros. The Civil Guard of San Bartolomé investigated these events, locating and arresting the perpetrator, D.H.V. of 31 years old and native of Gran Canaria, and recovering the stolen effects.
Also for events that occurred in Playa Honda, the young A.R.R. and J.F.B., of 21 and 19 years old, were arrested after forcing the entrance doors of four businesses with iron bars. In addition, the Moroccan A.L., 18 years old, was arrested after breaking the glass window of another business located in Playa Honda, causing damages valued at 1,000 euros.
The same agents of the Civil Guard of San Bartolomé arrested S.A.R., 34 years old, for two robberies in Tinajo, one committed inside the home of a British resident and another to an Austrian tourist, from whom he stole two backpacks with personal effects from inside a rental vehicle.
In Puerto del Carmen, Tías, the Civil Guard arrested the German tourist S.B., 27 years old, moments after stealing the collection of two internet terminals (979 euros broken down into coins that were recovered) from the premises of the Hotel Riu Paraíso, where he was staying on vacation.
In another service, the Moroccan B.M., 32 years old, was arrested at the Hotel Riu Olivina in Puerto del Carmen, after being discovered by the Civil Guard while perpetrating a robbery in one of the rooms, at which time he tried to flee, preventing the agents from his escape. The detainee was carrying two screwdrivers, with which he forced a total of five doors of rooms of the aforementioned hotel complex.
