Several rental cars parked in Yé are robbed again

A parking lot in Yé frequented by tourists has once again been the scene of several robberies in rental vehicles. Thus, after the two complaints registered last October, the scene was repeated again on Friday, although this time eight cars appeared with broken windows, according to a witness. For its part, the Civil Guard points out that "only three complaints are on record", which are added to those registered on October 31, when the first robberies took place.

From the Civil Guard they indicate that the investigation remains open and that they have not yet been able to identify the perpetrators, although they do not believe that it is an "organized gang". "It is difficult for them to move to the Island for an objective like this, since it is still a less serious crime," they point out, adding that "it is usually people from the Island itself who carry out these thefts."

Regarding the modus operandi, they confirm that it is the same as in the previous robberies. That is, "breaking the vehicle's window to steal objects, unless they have left the door or a window of the car open."

Regarding the area, they have once again highlighted that it is a "place with very little surveillance", which makes these events easier to occur. Specifically, the parking lot is located where the road to descend the Risco begins.
