Three members of the same family accused of having occupied an inhabited house in Playa Blanca for six days and of having stolen part of the belongings inside have admitted the facts and have accepted a sentence of three years in prison, after reaching an agreement with the Prosecutor's Office.
The trial was to be held before the First Section of the Provincial Court of Las Palmas, but with the agreement it will directly pass to a final judgment, according to La Provincia.
The defendants, Óscar L.N., Sergio L.N. and Trinidad N.R., have acknowledged that between October 31 and November 5, 2018 they stayed in that house, which was rented at that time. In fact, the belongings they took were from the tenant.
Now, they will be convicted of trespassing and theft, after admitting the facts narrated by the prosecutor in his indictment. In that letter, the Public Ministry pointed out that the three of them agreed "jointly and by prior agreement" to enter the house, "with the intention of staying inside and establishing their home there, knowing that it was inhabited."
In addition to the three-year prison sentence, they must compensate the resident of the house with 500 euros for the stolen items and 339.89 euros for the cleaning and disinfection of the house and the replacement of the items they used.
