Romina's husband would have tried to erase traces: he painted part of the house and bought caustic soda

A dog specialized in the search and location of cadaverous remains "marked" the rental car that Raúl Díaz Cachón claimed to have used to dispose of the body, and now agents will search for biological DNA remains

Romina's husband allegedly tried to erase evidence: he painted part of the house and bought caustic soda

Romina's husband, accused as the alleged perpetrator of the young woman's death, could have tried to erase traces of what happened in the house. According to sources close to the investigation, in the inspection carried out in the marital home, there is evidence that part of it has been recently painted. In addition, the Civil Guard has also been able to verify that Raúl Díaz Cachón bought caustic soda in the days after Romina's disappearance.

According to these same sources, it was between January 2nd and 6th when the young woman's husband bought this highly corrosive product, which is used for cleaning. It was also between those days that Raúl Diaz Cachón rented the car that he confessed to having used to dispose of the young woman's body and with which it has been verified by the odometer that he traveled about 1,000 kilometers in these four days.

The Civil Guard plans to thoroughly search the vehicle this Friday, although it was already inspected by a dog specialized in the search and location of cadaverous remains, which "marked" the car. Thus, the work of the agents will focus mainly on searching for biological DNA remains that certify whether the vehicle was actually used to transport the young woman's remains.

Search in the sea suspended pending new evidence

In this way, and also with the inspection of the detainee's labor office, which is still pending, the Civil Guard is looking for new evidence. And it is that, although Romina's husband confessed to having disposed of her corpse, he denied having participated in her death, assuring that he had found her dead upon returning home on January 1st, after having left it hours before after having had an argument with his wife.

Regarding the search for Romina's remains in the sea, as La Voz has already reported, it has been suspended for now due to the limited possibilities of finding the remains due to the time elapsed and also because the Civil Guard has not proven that her husband actually threw the body to the coast, as he declared after being arrested on January 13.
