Red and yellow flags for waves on several beaches of Lanzarote

The flags have been raised in Playa Chica, Playa Grande, Playa de Bastián, Playa de Los Pocillos, Playa de Matagorda and Playa de La Garita this Wednesday

The state of the sea has forced the raising of red and yellow flags on several of Lanzarote's beaches, as reported by the Security and Emergency Consortium.

Specifically, swimming has been prohibited at Playa Bastián, Playa de Los Pocillos, Playa de Matagorda and Playa de La Garita due to adverse sea conditions.

In addition to this, the yellow flag has been placed on Playa Chica and Playa Grande (Puerto del Carmen), according to the Emergency Consortium, so visitors are asked to exercise caution.

Weather forecast for this Thursday

The weather forecast for this Thursday, marked by the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), expects the waves and strong wind to subside. Thus, it foresees cloudy intervals, with a predominance of cloudy skies and a low probability of occasional drizzles during the second half of the day. While the trade winds will be moderate with intervals of strong wind in the early morning and late hours, with maximum gusts of 55 kilometers per hour in Tías. In addition, temperatures will suffer little change with maximums of 23 degrees and minimums of 17 degrees in Arrecife.
