Pre-alert declared for wind in Lanzarote and La Graciosa

Gusts may exceed between 60 and 90 kilometers per hour

The General Directorate of Emergencies of the Government of the Canary Islands has declared the pre-alert for winds from this Tuesday in Lanzarote and La Graciosa and in five other islands of the Archipelago. This has been reported through a document signed by the on-call technician, Jorge Parra.

Specifically, the insular interior, the west and north slopes of the island of volcanoes will be the most affected areas, as well as the entire island of La Graciosa.

The Specific Plan for Civil Protection and Emergency Care of the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands for Risks of Adverse Meteorological Phenomena (PEFMA) has been activated in order to act in La Gomera, La Palma, Tenerife, Gran Canaria and Fuerteventura, as well as Lanzarote and La Graciosa if circumstances require it.

Specifically, the wind will blow from the east and southeast moderate with areas of strong in the central hours of the day. The gusts will reach and exceed between 60 and 90 kilometers per hour.

This statement arises from the yellow warning issued by the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) for this Wednesday on the island, where it warned of maximum gusts of up to 70 kilometers per hour.
