The National Police have suspended the search for Juan Carlos Tejera this Monday morning, although they expected to resume it during the afternoon or on Tuesday. After his disappearance was reported on Friday, agents have searched the surroundings of Zonzamas and the Argana rubble dump, in Arrecife, throughout the weekend. However, police sources have assured that the search has been suspended on Monday morning "for investigation reasons", although they have not revealed what they are.
The Police believe that "everything points" to Juan Carlos Tejera having died. Sources close to the case have told La Voz that the agents found an iron stained with blood this Friday, which they believe could be the murder weapon.
The Police opened an investigation last Friday into the disappearance of Tejera, after his wife reported his disappearance in the early morning and a few hours later the vehicle was found. Although, as it is an open investigation, the lines of investigation have not been revealed, the Police did indicate that it is considered a "high risk" disappearance and this Monday has indicated that "everything points" to Tejera having died.
Sources close to the case have confirmed that the agents found one of Tejera's shoes inside his vehicle. The other appeared several meters from where his pick-up was parked, in the Arrecife neighborhood of Argana. In addition, they would have also found an iron with traces of blood and a wallet with Tejera's documentation and money inside. These findings, according to these sources, lead the Police to believe that Tejera could have been murdered and that the iron could be the murder weapon.
Throughout the weekend, the Police have searched the Argana rubble dump and its surroundings in search of Tejera. Emerlan and also the Spanish School of Rescue and Detection with Dogs joined the search, which sent at least two of its animals from Fuerteventura.
