One of the windmills of the salt mines near Puerto Naos suffered a fire on Friday afternoon, as reported by the Emergency Consortium.
The fire took place around 7:00 p.m. when CECOES was alerted. Agents of the Local Police, National Police and Port Authority, as well as firefighters, went to the scene.
The emergency teams verified that it was a fire in some rooms converted into a shanty that was full of belongings, a large accumulation of stacked books and four butane bottles. In addition, the sheet metal and wood roof had collapsed. The first thing the firefighters did was check that there was no one inside.
They later extinguished the water and finished it off by applying foam.
