The National Police has clarified a presumed scam linked to several aesthetic and laser hair removal clinics in the Canary Islands that would have left at least 172 victims in the islands of Gran Canaria and Tenerife. The investigation has made it possible to identify five people, including the sole administrator of the company and its general director.

The inquiries began in October 2025 after a client reported the sudden closure of an aesthetic clinic in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria where she had contracted various treatments. The establishment ceased its activity shortly after the contract was formalized and the services were never provided.

From that first complaint, new similar cases began to emerge. The investigators then detected the same pattern: clients who had paid in advance or financed beauty and laser hair removal treatments that they ultimately did not receive.

According to the police investigation, the company's managers continued to market and charge for new treatments despite knowing the company's delicate economic situation and the impossibility of fulfilling the contracted services. The company allegedly accumulated unpaid rent and salaries while continuing to attract clients.

At least 40 of the victims did not even get to enjoy any of the contracted sessions, as detailed by the National Police.

The investigation has concluded with the indictment of the company's sole administrator and general director, both between 40 and 50 years old. In addition, three other people have been identified for their alleged participation in the events.

The high number of victims, the existence of several companies linked to the same administrator, and the possible extension of the case to other parts of the country have led to the case being transferred to the jurisdiction of the National High Court.
