A vehicle was incinerated on Wednesday night in a lot located on Tres de Mayo street, in Arrecife, in a fire that required the intervention of the Consortium of Security and Emergencies of Lanzarote and La Graciosa.
The alert was received at 10:53 PM and, upon the arrival of the personnel at the scene, agents of the National Police and the Local Police were already present. The fire affected a car and was beginning to spread to a van parked next to it.
According to the Consortium, several neighbors acted quickly and removed other vehicles that were in the vicinity, thus preventing the fire from reaching more cars.
The firefighters focused their efforts on stopping the spread of the flames to the van and on extinguishing the fire in the affected vehicle using water. Although they managed to prevent the fire from spreading completely, the van suffered damage to one of its sides due to the proximity of the flames.
The intervention concluded at 11:30 PM, after approximately 1,000 liters of water were used to put out the fire. No personal injuries have been reported, and the causes of the fire are unknown at this time.
