Injured hiker rescued after falling in Caldera Blanca

The 68-year-old woman suffered a severe hip contusion and a blow to the wrist

A 68-year-old woman has been injured after falling in Caldera Blanca. The incident took place at approximately 3:32 p.m. this Sunday on a trail in the area.

Alerted by CECOES, firefighters went to the area to assist the woman. The affected woman suffered a severe hip contusion and a blow to the wrist.

Once in the area, emergency personnel walked one kilometer to find the injured woman and mobilize her on the KONG stretcher to the parking lots. Subsequently, she was attended to by paramedics from the Canary Islands Emergency Service.

Local Police officers and an ambulance from the Canary Islands Emergency Service were dispatched to the scene.
