A 45-year-old Irish tourist staying on vacation in Puerto del Carmen surprised three young men in the early hours of Tuesday trying to rob the apartment where he was staying. After being discovered, the criminals fled, at which point a Civil Guard unit patrolling the area observed them jumping over the outer wall of the hotel complex.
This behavior caught the attention of the agents, who proceeded to identify the suspects, verifying that they were fleeing after the frustrated robbery described above. At the same time, the civil guards noticed that a fourth suspect was in the vicinity at the wheel of a parked car with the engine running, waiting for the other three. The four subjects, including a minor, were arrested and placed at the disposal of the court.
Frustrated robbery in an apartment
Also in Puerto del Carmen and on Tuesday morning, the Civil Guard responded to an alert call reporting a robbery on Princesa Teguise street, where agents arrested a man who was running away after jumping from the balcony of an apartment where he stole a mobile phone from a 19-year-old British tourist, which was returned to her after police intervention.
The detainee was transferred to the Arrecife General Hospital to be examined by a doctor for suffering an injury to his ankle that occurred after the jump made by him from the balcony of the building to the public road. The detainee was placed at the disposal of the court.
