Firefighters went last night to an out-of-control bonfire in the celebration of San Juan night on Francia street, in Playa Blanca, as reported by the Emergency Consortium.
The troops were alerted around 8:00 p.m. that the bonfire fire on a plot of abandoned construction was burning an area with wood and debris and advancing uncontrollably towards a large number of wooden chairs and stacked plastic tables.
The firefighters managed to control the flames and prevent their spread towards the stacked material. Agents of the Local Police of Yaiza and the Civil Guard also came to the place.
