The Lanzarote Emergency Consortium extinguished two small fires on Friday night in Lanzarote, one in a cafeteria at a gas station and another in a home.
The first of these occurred around 9 p.m. in a house on Anzuelo Street in Playa Honda. The fire affected the kitchen, and before the firefighters arrived, a powder extinguisher had been emptied on it. Emergency teams confirmed that the fire was extinguished and ventilated the house.
Hours later, around 12 midnight, the Consortium was alerted to a fire in a cafeteria next to the gas station on Avenida Mamerto Cabrera, also in the tourist town of Playa Honda. Once on site, the Local Police facilitated their entry to the premises and located the fire affecting the oven. They quickly extinguished it with water and subsequently ventilated it.
