Fernando Fernández Tapias expresses gratitude for the support received after the disappearance of his son Bosco in Lanzarote

The businessman and shipowner Fernando Fernández Tapias and his family have released a press statement to publicly thank everyone for the support and condolences they have received after the "tragic accident" suffered by his son, Bosco José Fernández Tapias Arribas, on the coast of Lanzarote.

Thus, the family takes for granted the hypothesis maintained by the security and emergency services, which consider that he may have suffered an accident while diving, and that his body may have been trapped under the sea.

The disappearance occurred last September 28 at Playa Chica, in the municipality of Tías, where the vehicle that the young man had rented and some of his belongings were found, and last week it was announced that the search efforts in Lanzarote were suspended.

However, the Deputy Delegate of the Government in the province of Las Palmas, Vicente Oliva, has assured the EFE agency that the search continues, although "the divers can no longer do their job", so now only the Coast Guard device is carrying out the search tasks.

In the same statements, the Deputy Delegate of the Government in the province of Las Palmas added that the device will be working "as long as necessary" and explained that at this moment they are waiting for the technicians to communicate how long to continue searching and where the search can continue, which has also been extended to Fuerteventura.

"It is really difficult to find him alive," concluded the deputy delegate, "but that does not mean that we will continue searching for this person, until there is at least some possibility of finding him."
