A man of Spanish nationality was arrested for attempting to rob two establishments in Arrecife on Tuesday night. According to reports from the Citizen Security and Intervention Unit of the Local Police, the arrested man broke the windows of the shops in the capital of Lanzarote, one of them being a pharmacy located on Calle Portugal.
The alleged perpetrator of the attempted robbery was located on Avenida Fred Olsen by members of the USCI. At the time of the arrest, he was carrying a series of bags and the toolbox with which he had allegedly accessed the establishments.
The Police Corps adds that citizen collaboration "was fundamental for his arrest", as they were the ones who alerted when they heard the breaking of the window and the pharmacy alarm.
On the other hand, the USCI also reports that a woman is being investigated for damage to the entrance glass of another establishment in the capital on Tuesday night. In addition, they point out that the alleged perpetrator of the events suffered serious cuts to her extremities.
