National Police agents arrested in the municipality of Arrecife a 49-year-old man of Spanish nationality, with numerous police records, as the alleged perpetrator of three crimes of robbery with violence.
On January 22, the National Police received a complaint from a woman stating how an individual suddenly accessed the passenger seat of her vehicle while driving on a street in the capital of Lanzarote, threatened her with a knife and seized all the valuables she was carrying.
The police state that the investigation allowed to identify "unequivocally" the alleged perpetrator of the events, as a 49-year-old man with numerous police records for crimes against property, many of them violent, who was located and arrested in Arrecife.
The police efforts allowed to verify that the arrested person also allegedly perpetrated two events of identical nature last August. The investigation remains open and the location of new victims is not ruled out.
After the corresponding police report was prepared, the detainee was placed at the disposal of the competent Judicial Authority, who ordered his immediate imprisonment.
