Another immigrant who was traveling on the boat that arrived in La Graciosa last Monday was located on Tuesday evening by a resident of the eighth island. So far, 22 immigrants have been detained.
The occupants of this boat reported that 27 people were traveling on it, so the Civil Guard does not rule out new arrests. Even the last immigrant located assured that he was hiding on the island of La Graciosa with three other people, who also arrived by boat.
This person was located around 8:00 p.m. by a neighbor. According to what he communicated, he intended to surrender to the Local Police, after spending a day hiding. He spoke Spanish quite well and told the neighbors that he had worked for eight months in La Palma, from where he left due to the death of his mother.
The immigrant was transferred by water-taxi to the port of Órzola, where the Civil Guard was waiting for him. Around 11:00 p.m. he was attended by the Red Cross at the Civil Guard barracks in Costa Teguise.
He was in good health and the Red Cross gave him food and clothing, according to the president of the NGO, Rafael Hernández. The immigrant was a Maghrebi, of legal age.
