Four workers have been injured in an accident at a construction site in Costa Teguise, where the future civic center is being built. The accident occurred at noon this Wednesday when part of the roof they were placing fell.
According to some sources, the roof collapsed due to the strong wind. However, the Security and Emergency Consortium has stated that the roof could not support the weight of the concrete and that is why it collapsed, also dropping the four workers. However, he specified that it will be the Labor Inspectorate who must say what triggered the collapse.
In addition to the firefighters, several ambulances from the SUC and Emerlan, as well as members of the Civil Guard and the Local Police, have traveled to the scene. In addition, councilors from the Teguise government group and those responsible for the company Hormiconsa, which was awarded the works, also attended.
Of the four injured, three were taken out on a stretcher, while the fourth was able to leave the accident area walking. Afterwards, all were transferred by ambulance to the Molina Orosa Hospital.
According to what 112 has reported, all four had serious injuries. Two of them had spinal trauma and the other two had multiple injuries. Of the ages, only one of them has been reported, which is a 43-year-old man.
