About 50 kilos of drugs were seized on Janubio Beach. Two agents of the Local Police of Yaiza attended the call last Saturday, April 19, from a neighbor who informed them of the presence of several suspicious packages floating in the vicinity of the beach, near Las Salinas.
Moved to the area, they verified the veracity of the complaint and proceeded to drag the packages to land. Once there, it was verified that the bundles wrapped tablets sealed with packing tape containing a substance very similar to hashish, so they proceeded to carry out the delivery procedures to the Civil Guard, for further analysis and investigation. A first estimate by local agents puts the substance in both bundles at about 50 kilos.
The Councilor of the Local Police of Yaiza, Miguel Ángel Cáceres, thanked the collaboration of the citizens, and assured that "he will continue working to try to eradicate one of the greatest scourges of today's society."
The operation remains open and, in any case, the appearance of new bundles is not ruled out, according to the Yaiza City Council.
