A young man was arrested by the Civil Guard as the alleged perpetrator of a minor fire that occurred in the early hours of last Monday, inside a room of the electrical installation of a hotel located in the town of Playa Blanca.
The detainee, E. A. U., 22 years old and a native of Vizcaya, had worked in that hotel complex, from which he had been recently dismissed, as reported this Wednesday by the Benemérita.
The fire, allegedly intentionally caused by this former employee, caused damage to the electrical supply of a certain area of the hotel, and as a precaution, several apartments where hotel complex workers were staying were evacuated, although at no time was there any risk to the physical integrity of these people or the clients.
Given the suspicions that the origin of the fire had been provoked, the Civil Guard initiated a series of investigations, which resulted in obtaining clear indications about the alleged authorship of the same, proceeding later to the arrest of the aforementioned young man.
