A 49-year-old woman was seriously injured early this Sunday morning in Puerto del Carmen, after falling from a second floor. According to reports from the Coordinating Center for Emergencies and Security (Cecoes) of the Government of the Canary Islands, at that time a fire had broken out inside her apartment, which could have motivated this reaction.
The incident occurred at 5:15 in the morning, when several calls alerted that a fire had broken out inside a house located in a building on Juan Carlos I street, in Puerto del Carmen. Moments later, the victim jumped from the balcony to the street, resulting in injuries with multiple traumas.
Personnel from the fire department, local police, National Police Corps and Canary Emergency Service (SUC) went to the scene. After being stabilized, the victim was transferred in an ambulance to the Doctor Molina Orosa Hospital.
