A 63-year-old French woman has died this Sunday at Los Pocillos Beach, in Puerto del Carmen
At 10:17 a.m., an alert was received at the Emergency and Security Coordinating Center (CECOES) 1-1-2 of the Government of the Canary Islands requesting medical assistance for a woman who had been rescued from the water in cardiorespiratory arrest. They also add that the beach lifeguard is performing resuscitation maneuvers on her.
1-1-2 has immediately activated the necessary emergency resources. Two ambulances have been dispatched to the scene, one medicalized and one basic life support from the SUC. Upon arrival at the scene, the medical personnel resumed the resuscitation maneuvers initiated by the lifeguard of the Emerlan NGO on the beach and continued with basic and advanced resuscitation maneuvers without success, failing to reverse the arrest and confirming her death.
The Civil Guard has taken charge of the proceedings.
