A 49-year-old British woman has died after suffering a drowning this Thursday at Famara Beach in the municipality of Teguise.
At approximately 3:39 p.m., the Emergency and Security Coordination Center (CECOES) 1-1-2 of the Government of the Canary Islands received an alert reporting that some bathers had pulled a woman from the water with signs of drowning and that she may be in cardiorespiratory arrest.
1-1-2 immediately activated the necessary emergency resources. Emerlan personnel confirmed that she was in arrest and began performing basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers until the arrival of medical personnel from the SUC, who carried out advanced resuscitation maneuvers without success, later confirming her death.
The Civil Guard took charge of the body until the arrival of the Judicial Authority.
The Local Police collaborated with the security and emergency services.
