Merchant arrested in Lanzarote accused of selling 'pirated' electronic products

The Civil Guard of Lanzarote has carried out an action against the counterfeiting of electronic articles as a result of the complaint filed by a German tourist who was the victim of a deception after buying in a bazaar in Puerto del Puerto del Carmen (Tías).

The agents carried out an inspection of the premises, verifying that a large quantity of "pirate" products were being sold in it, and seizing more than a hundred video games for the Nintendo console, together with other effects, mostly memory cards and MP-3 players. All this for a value of 6,200 euros.

For these facts and as responsible for the sale of these articles, the Civil Guard arrested the manager of the establishment, a merchant originally from India, accused of a crime against industrial property who, after testifying, has been released pending appearance before the judicial authority.
