Firefighters from the Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium have transferred a person in serious condition early this Wednesday morning. The events took place on Víctor Hugo street in Arrecife, where a patient was being treated by the health services.

At 04.45 in the morning they were alerted to collaborate with the Canary Islands Emergency Service. The patient was stable and they had time to lower him to the ambulance. However, the self-escalation could not be used and they had to place him on a spinal board and lower him down the building's staircase to the ambulance for transfer to the hospital.

The Local Police were at the scene, controlling traffic.
