A minor arrested for two burglaries in inhabited homes in Puerto del Carmen

The Civil Guard is looking for a second person involved. One of the victims suffered injuries when trying to retain the perpetrators

A minor has been arrested for two burglaries in occupied homes in Puerto del Carmen

The Civil Guard of Tías has arrested a male minor as the alleged perpetrator of a continuous crime of robbery with force, by accessing two inhabited homes in the town of Puerto del Carmen.

The intervention began in the early hours of the morning, after the Civil Guard received a call from a victim alerting of one of the robberies and injuries. The agents quickly went to the place "determining as a priority the assistance to possible injured before carrying out any other action".

According to the Benemérita, the injured was one of the residents of the house, who surprised two people who accessed his home by using force, forcing the entrance door and fracturing a glass door that gives access to the terrace of the house to escape. The victim of the injuries was treated at the corresponding health center, after which the agents proceeded to initiate the search for the perpetrators.

With the physical description provided by the victims, the agents initiated a search device in the area, locating one of them in Puerto del Carmen, when he was trying to hide from the presence of the agents. He was carrying two mobile phones that were not his property, later confirming the subtraction of one of them from a second home located just 100 meters from the previous one, also inhabited.

As there were sufficient indications, the Civil Guard agents arrested the minor as the alleged perpetrator of two crimes of robbery with force, who was placed at the disposal of the attachment of the Prosecutor's Office for Minors in the town of Arrecife, later entering the Educational Internment Center for Minors of La Montañeta in Gran Canaria. Regarding the second perpetrator of the robberies, the Civil Guard continues the investigation and location efforts.
