National Police agents in Arrecife have arrested a 30-year-old man, with no prior police record, as the alleged perpetrator of the crimes of resistance and serious disobedience, damage and threats.
On Monday morning, the National Police received a call on the 091 telephone number from a citizen, reporting that a man was on a street in the capital of Lanzarote without a mask, carrying a stick and a glass bottle, berating and threatening people who were in the place.
The police officers who responded to the call, with the physical characteristics provided, located this individual and approached him to identify him. However, in the presence of the police, the man picked up a stone and threw it, hitting the glass of a car and causing it to break. In addition, he began to threaten the agents with words such as "I am going to kill you all, I am going to cut the throats of you and the judge."
Despite the "strong resistance" of this person, the National Police agents arrested him as the alleged perpetrator of the crimes of resistance and serious disobedience, damage and threats. After the corresponding police report was prepared, the detainee was placed at the disposal of the competent Judicial Authority.
