National Police agents have arrested in Arrecife a 45-year-old man, with a police record, as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of gender violence and another against public health.
The detainee's partner notified the emergency services after being attacked and told the National Police what had happened. The detainee, who was in the house, acknowledged the facts and also, according to the Police, "handed over 1,665 grams of hashish and 805 grams of hashish pollen, and stated that he sold these substances in order to have income".
The events unfolded last morning of August 3, when agents of the National Police were carrying out prevention and security work in Arrecife and received a notice that a woman had been attacked by her partner.
Upon arriving at the scene, the agents interviewed the victim, who stated that moments before she "had an argument with her partner and he grabbed her by the neck, throwing her on the bed." Afterwards, "out of fear, she ran out of the house and called the emergency services."
The National Police proceeded to arrest the man as the alleged perpetrator of crimes of gender violence and against public health, being placed at the disposal of the competent Judicial Authority.
