Firefighters rescuing the hiker in Famara

A hiker had to be rescued after fracturing his tibia and fibula on one of the roads in Famara, specifically in the Los Noruegos area.

The incident took place at around 5:00 p.m. this Monday, when CECOES was alerted. The GES helicopter, the Emergency Consortium and an SUC ambulance have traveled to the scene.

However, given the adverse weather conditions, the helicopter could not get close to the area to carry out the rescue, so it landed in a safe area so that two rescuers could go down and collaborate with the firefighters in the rescue of the injured person on foot.

The rescue team has immobilized the hiker's leg with a splint and has managed to lower the injured man to an accessible area so that the helicopter could pick him up. Once inside the helicopter, the affected person was transferred to the Lanzarote airport, where an ambulance was waiting for him to take him to the Molina Orosa hospital.
