The Civil Guard has dismantled a gang dedicated to drug trafficking in Gran Canaria and has arrested six people accused of selling narcotics in the southeast of the island, the armed institute reported this Monday in a statement.
The detainees are A.L.D.O. and O.V.G., both 18 years old and residents of Ingenio; J.C.B.D., 21 years old, and M.I.A., 28 years old, both residents of El Burrero (Ingenio); Y.S.O. 18 years old, resident of Tafira, and the Italian citizen residing in Telde G.L.S. of 44 years.
The investigations began several weeks ago, after suspecting that a group of people were engaged in the sale of narcotics in different parts of Gran Canaria, which allowed the registration of two properties, one in the neighborhood of El Burrero and another in the urban area of Ingenio, which were important points of drug sales.
Inside, the agents seized 169 grams of cocaine, 243 grams of amphetamine powder, one hundred amphetamine pills, 80 of anabolic steroids and 63 grams of hashish.
In addition, two precision scales, a machete, a large knife, a crowbar, several tools for the preparation, mixing and cutting of the drug, eight mobile phones, three televisions, a mini-musical chain, a DVD, a gold pendant and a car valued at 15,000 euros were seized.
Likewise, an Italian pharmacist was arrested in Tafira Alta, in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, for dispensing certain amounts of anabolic steroids to the remaining detainees without the corresponding prescription and medical prescription, substances that were intended for illegal sale.
Two of the detainees have also been accused of fraud and documentary falsification, after verifying that in a Miller Bajo dealership (Las Palmas de Gran Canaria) they had acquired a car using falsified payrolls, a vehicle that was later sold to a third person and that has been recovered.
The judge has ordered the imprisonment of the two leaders of the gang (J.C.B.D. and O.V.G.), who have entered the Salto del Negro Penitentiary Center.
