A dangerous criminal was arrested in Las Palmas for perpetrating several robberies while enjoying a prison permit.

Policemen attached to the Judicial Police Group of the Police Station of the National Police Corps of the South District, recently proceeded to arrest Francisco Javier G. D., 33 years old, native of Las Palmas and with a total of 56 previous arrests for multiple crimes against property and of another nature, as the alleged perpetrator of a robbery with violence and intimidation, robbery with force in things and thefts.

According to a statement from the National Police, on December 24, the aforementioned Francisco Javier was arrested hours after perpetrating a robbery with force in some offices on Francisco Gourié street, from which he had managed to steal various computer equipment.

Two days later, a citizen reported having been the victim of a robbery with violence and intimidation by the "snatch" procedure on Pérez Galdós street, and the agents managed to determine that the perpetrator of the act was the same individual as the previous robbery.

To this was added a few days later the complaint of another citizen who, from the window of his home, had witnessed the forced and subsequent looting of his own vehicle by the same character, whom he later recognized in the police station.

Given the notorious social alarm created by these events and others of similar characteristics committed in the aforementioned neighborhoods, the agents established a device in order to proceed with his arrest, which was greatly hindered by the subject's experience in evading police action on several previous occasions, managing however to arrest him in the capital of Gran Canaria hours after committing the last crime.

At that time, several items of clothing were found in his possession that he had stolen from a store in the Triana shopping area, carrying the effects used for the commission of the robberies with force, specifically a hammer and screwdrivers.

The police note explains that the circumstance is that, once in the police station, the agents were able to verify that all the criminal acts committed by the detainee had taken place while he was enjoying a prison permit.

Once the proceedings were instructed, he was placed at the disposal of the Judicial Authority, which ordered his immediate re-entry into prison.
