Yaiza Civil Protection attended this Monday morning a new incident caused by the strong wind blowing on the Island during the last two days. It is an injured cyclist, about 20 years old, who was riding in a group between Yaiza and Playa Blanca on the LZ 2 when a gust of wind threw him off the road, falling into a rocky area.

The group's personnel were alerted by the Local Police, immediately moving to the scene of the accident, about 500 meters from the roundabout of the town of Yaiza. The affected person, who was conscious and oriented, had a wound on his chin and another on his left knee, in addition to lacerations on both hands and pain on the left side of his body.

After receiving first aid, the cyclist was evacuated to a care center in a basic life support ambulance from the Canary Islands Emergency Service.
