Arrival of a boat to Punta Mujeres

A small boat has arrived on its own means to Punta Mujeres this Wednesday morning.

According to the Security and Emergency Consortium, there were a total of 36 people of Maghreb origin on board. Among them are 25 men, three women and nine minors, one of them a two-year-old baby. The migrants departed from Agadir and had been sailing for four days.

Local Police and Red Cross volunteers have moved to the scene. The Consortium points out that all occupants were in apparent good health.

This is the second boat to reach Lanzarote so far this week, after the one intercepted by Salvamar in the early hours of Tuesday with 57 immigrants on board. In addition, it is the third of the month, since last May 2 a boat with 60 migrants on board also had to be rescued.
