A 78-year-old Norwegian tourist died of cardiorespiratory arrest this Sunday on Los Pocillos beach without the emergency services being able to do anything for her life, according to CECOES-112.
The event occurred around 12:40 this Sunday on the tourist beach of Los Pocillos, in Puerto del Carmen, in the municipality of Tías. The lifeguard who was on duty realized that the woman was coming out of the water with obvious signs that she was unwell, so when he approached her, already on the sand, the woman fainted.
After taking her pulse, seeing the seriousness of the woman's state of health, the lifeguard called a medicalized ambulance from the Canary Emergency Service (SUC) that tried to revive her, without being able to do anything. The woman had died from cardiorespiratory arrest.
Agents of the Civil Guard took charge of instructing the appropriate proceedings.
