A 64-year-old disabled man reports having suffered a violent robbery in Titerroy

A 64-year-old man, a vendor of coupons from the Organization Promoting the Disabled (OID), suffered a violent robbery on Wednesday night in the Plaza Pío XII of Titerroy. This was reported by the affected person himself, who three hours later went to the Police Station to recount what happened.

According to his report, he was leaving a bar when a young man approached him from behind, snatching his glasses. He then tried to take his fanny pack, in which he carried several OID coupons. The complainant tried to resist, so a struggle ensued, until the young man ended up throwing him to the ground.

At that moment, according to what the victim told the police, the assailant took the fanny pack and "left the place running in the direction of the Altavista open field."

In his report, the victim could not describe the assailant, since "he could not see him well", because he snatched his glasses. He could only say that he was a "young male, of normal build".

The complainant also explained that there are no witnesses to the robbery, although cars did pass by while the struggle occurred. "I asked for help, but no one helped me," he told the police.

The victim, who has a 65 percent motor disability, which mainly affects his legs, also presented an injury report at the Police Station, as he went to the doctor after the robbery.

In addition, he explained that it is not the first time he has faced a similar event, since a year ago he also reported having suffered a robbery in the same area.

According to the report, the total value of what was stolen amounts to 230 euros, including the leather fanny pack and the OID tickets he had to sell.

From the Titerroy Neighborhood Association, which has made this complaint public, they have once again criticized the "scarce police presence" in the neighborhood and have demanded more surveillance in the area by the Local Police and the National Police.
