This Saturday, August 2, around 4:30 p.m., emergency services were activated due to an incident that occurred in Playa Mujeres, in the Papagayo area, where a tourist of French nationality, approximately 56 years old, suffered a medical crisis.
The man was lying on the shore, in the dry area of the beach, after convulsing. According to information provided by the health teams, he was in a semi-conscious state caused by hypoglycemia.
Given this situation, the Security and Emergency Consortium was required to collaborate with the Canary Emergency Service (SUC) in the transfer of the patient. Civil Guard, Local Police, a basic life support (BLS) ambulance and an advanced life support (ALS) ambulance were already present at the scene.
Once the medical team stabilized the patient and authorized the transfer, they proceeded to evacuate him from the beach to the ambulance. From there, he was transferred to a health center to continue with the necessary care.
The rapid intervention of all the services involved made it possible to act effectively in an area with difficult access, thus guaranteeing the safety and immediate care of the affected person.
